The China Machine Tool & Tool Industry Association (abbreviated as CMTBA in English) is a national social organization with the qualification of a social organization legal person approved by the Ministry of Civil Affairs of the People's Republic of China. It was officially established in March 1988, and its permanent institution is located in Beijing. The China Machine Tool & Tool Industry Association takes the manufacturing enterprises of China's machine tool and tool industry as the main body. It is a national industry organization voluntarily formed by relevant enterprises or enterprise groups, business companies, scientific research and design institutions, universities and colleges, and associations. It is not for profit and is not restricted by regional or departmental affiliation relationships and ownership forms.
The purpose of the China Machine Tool & Tool Industry Association is to safeguard the common interests of the whole industry and promote the development of the industry. It plays the roles of a bridge, a link, and an intermediary organization between the government, the same industry at home and abroad, and users; and it plays a self-disciplinary and coordinating role among domestic enterprises in the same industry. After entering the new century, the China Machine Tool & Tool Industry Association adheres to the guiding ideology that service is the purpose and development is the absolute principle; adheres to the principles of policy guidance, operation according to economic laws, promotion by market mechanisms, and restraint by laws and regulations in its work; adheres to the characteristics of highlighting the sense of the times, emphasizing participation, improving service quality, and promoting internationalization; and makes great efforts to realize the transformation of China from a large machine tool producing country to a powerful machine tool producing country.
The China Machine Tool & Tool Industry Association takes the manufacturing enterprises of China's machine tool and tool industry as the main body and is voluntarily formed by relevant enterprises or enterprise groups, scientific research and design institutions, universities and colleges, and associations. The China Machine Tool & Tool Industry Association has more than 1,650 members in fields including metal cutting machine tools, special processing machine tools, forging and pressing machinery, casting machinery, woodworking machine tools, measuring tools, cutting tools, measuring instruments, fixtures, abrasive materials and abrasives, coated abrasives, superhard materials and their products, numerical control systems, digital display devices, machine tool electrical appliances, machine tool accessories, machine tool functional components, auxiliary machine tools, machine tool parts and maintenance, and industrial robots. The permanent institution (the general association) of the China Machine Tool & Tool Industry Association is located in Beijing. According to product categories, 25 branches are set up, distributed throughout the country, and 7 working committees are established according to work tasks.
